Fluid flows have an influence on virtually everything that we do or every product that we use. The top speed of a car us governed by the flow of air around the car, getting enough oxygen to your muscles so that you can run to catch the bus is governed by the flow of blood through your veins, printing a life-like picture from your camera is governed by the flow of ink to the printing head of your ink-jet printer.
Fluids Engineering encompasses engineering techniques that are used to manage and control fluid flows and heat transfer. These techniques are used to manage the flows of fluids that control the action and performance of the products that we use. The latest technology has the potential to offer “virtual prototyping” ie predicting product performance up front of producing physical prototypes.
